Bensalem man charged with killing 25-year-old roommate
BENSALEM, Pa. (FOX 29) - Police have arrested a man who they say shot and killed his 25-year-old roommate in Bensalem.
Gregory Hylton, 40, was arraigned Sunday morning on counts of criminal homicide and possession of an instrument of crime.
Hylton called 911 just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday and reported that he accidentally shot his roommate inside their residence at Creekside Apartments on Knights Road, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police say Hylton remained at the scene and attempted CPR on his roommate, identified as 25-year-old Shareif Simpson.
According to investigators, Hylton and Simpson were arguing and physically fighting prior to the shooting. Hylton reportedly admitted to detectives that he struck Simpson several times with his 9mm handgun prior to shooting him.
Hyman was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility and denied bail.
