Bone-chilling temperatures, snow persist across Pa.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Slick and icy travel conditions are being reported across Pennsylvania as snow continues to fall across the state.

Forecasters say 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall in most areas before the precipitation end by late Saturday afternoon. But several inches of snow were expected in Erie, which was under a lake effect snow warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Several accidents and spinouts were being reported. So officials are urging rivers to reduce their speed and allow extra travel time.

The snow comes as the state continues to deal with bitter cold temperatures. High temperatures on Saturday were only expected to be in the low 20s.
