Man shot and killed by police in Vineland identified
VINELAND, N.J. (AP/WTXF) - Prosecutors say they are investigating a shooting death involving New Jersey police officers.
The Cumberland County prosecutor's office says Vineland police officers were dispatched shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday after a report of an unknown man acting suspiciously on the front porch of a home on West Wood Street.
Prosecutors say an encounter between the officers and the subject lasted for several minutes and ended with the person shot and killed. Officials later identified the man as 37-year-old Rashaun Washington of Bridgeton, New Jersey.
County prosecutors are investigating and asking anyone with information to contact them.
