Double shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 critical in North Philly

Police are investigating following a double shooting in North Philadelphia that left one man dead and another in critical condition.

The shooting took place on Mutter Street and West Westmoreland Street around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 22.

Police say that, following the incident, 25-year-old Justin Braswell was transported to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead.

According to police, a second 25-year-old shooting victim arrived to the hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Police say the victim is currently undergoing surgery and is listed in critical condition.

The Homicide Unit is currently speaking with a potential suspect, but no charges have been made at this time.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
