PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - The Philadelphia Eagles have selected Penn State running back Miles Sanders with the 53rd overall pick in the NFL draft Friday.
Sanders will join a deep backfield lead by Jordan Howard.
A Pittsburgh native, Sanders ran an impressive 4.50 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine earlier this year.
At 5-foot-11, 211 pounds, Sanders rushed for over 1,200 yards and netted nine touchdowns in his junior season at Penn State.
The Eagles also selected Stanford wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside with the 57th overall pick.
In his senior year, Arcega-Whiteside racked up over 1000 receiving yards and found the endzone 14 times.
