Surveillance video catches aftermath of alleged child luring attempt in Delaware County
RIDLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa (FOX 29) - A Delaware County father's home surveillance video posted to Facebook has been shared more than 1,200 time, after warning about a driver approaching kids.
The video shows a young girl run inside a home and the driver of a gold sedan traveling slowly down the street.
"He approached my daughter, said 'Hey, come here, come here,' tried to pull her over to the car and ask her about herself, she took off running," says Bill Moss, the girl's father.
Moss says it happened on Saturday near the intersection of Dale and Secane roads in Ridley Township.
He says his daughter knew to run away because he believes the same exact car and driver approached his other daughter in July of 2017.
He says in that case the man asked his daughter to show him her feet. He was charged with harassment, a summary offense less serious than a misdemeanor.
"We're here to protect kids, we're not here to hurt kids, so we need to make sure guys like this get off the street," says Moss.
Moss says he filed a report with Ridley Township Police before posting the video on Facebook to make sure everyone was aware.
Some of his neighbors say they are now keeping a close watch.
"The whole thing is just disturbing," says Jim Hart. "Your first concern is your child and you just hope the person gets caught."
