Crews battle heavy fire at North Philadelphia repair shop

Crews are on the scene of a heavy fire at a two-story repair shop in North Philadelphia Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 800 block of Sedgley Avenue around 2 a.m.

Crews could not enter the building as of 6 a.m. due to potential dangers with gasoline and explosives inside the repair shop. Instead, firefighters were mounting a defensive fight from the outside of the structure.

Several nearby businesses are impacted by the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
