Man, 24, shot and killed inside Germantown restaurant

Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside a Chinese restaurant in Germantown overnight.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday at New Kitchen, a Chinese take-out restaurant on the 4900 block of Wayne Avenue.

Police say a 24-year-old man was being chased by two masked men when he ran into the restaurant, where he was shot three times.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A customer who was in the restaurant at the time of the shooting reportedly ducked for cover when shots were fired and left uninjured.

No other injuries were reported.

This is an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
