Mold closes Holly Glen Elementary School in Williamstown, New Jersey
WILLIAMSTOWN, NJ (WTXF) - A Gloucester County elementary school has closed for health concerns due to a serious mold issue that parents say has plagued the school for more than a decade.
Holly Glen Elementary School is expected to be closed from several weeks after the discovery of mold inside the Williamstown school.
School officials say the building will undergo remediation and repairs for the mold that was found in ceiling tiles, lockers, and classrooms.
According to reports, 550 students will be split up to attend other schools in Monroe Township.
Parents tell FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce students, teachers, and support staff have previously reported being sick with rashes, coughs, and swollen eyes.
The school district is now expected to check all 6 of the district's schools for mold.
