Donations pour in for 11-year-old girl who died at sleepover in Northeast Philly

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Donations are pouring in for the family of an 11-year-old girl who died during a sleepover in Northeast Philadelphia.

"The findings are that it was most likely a natural death," Northeast Detectives Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum said.

That was the word from Philadelphia police Thursday following a thorough investigation and an autopsy on 11-year-old Jordan Preshong who died during a sleepover Tuesday night at a neighbor's home on Angus Place.

"There was no sign of trauma or foul play. They have a couple tests; a neuropathology test and a toxicology test that we're waiting to come back," Lt. Rosenbaum said.

Neighbors like Rachel Tidman and her family were still in shock over the young girl's death. Tidman's daughter often played with Jordan Preshong right outside her front door.

Police released the autopsy results 24 hours after Jordan Preshong was found unresponsive in a second floor bedroom at her neighbor's home. A search of the home yielded few clues as to what caused her death.

As her family grieved behind closed doors, a GoFundMe set-up to help with funeral arrangements generated over $9,000. Sources say neighbors and friends have also stepped up, some even offering to pay for the funeral and a headstone for the young girl.

Tidman says she will always have fond memories of the young girl who touched so many lives here.

"She was very generous. She would always take the time out to play with my little girl," she said.
