Man, 38, dead after 9-vehicle collision in Chester Co. involving tractor trailer

One person has died following a serious tractor trailer accident in West Goshen Township in Chester County.

38-year-old Adam Harrison Swope, of Malvern Pa., was traveling southbound on Route 202 when he was struck by a northbound tractor trailer which had entered the southbound lanes after overturning.

The incident took place on Route 202 and Matlack Street around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say the accident involved nine different vehicles, one of which was the tractor trailer that caught fire as a result of the impact.

Authorities say there were several minor to moderate injuries in addition to the one fatality.
