Service dog gets honorary diploma for being the ultimate helper
Potsdam, N.Y. (STORYFUL) - A woman and her service dog both received diplomas at a graduation ceremony at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, on December 15.
An image shared to the college's Facebook account shows 25-year-old Brittany Hawley graduating with a master's in occupational therapy alongside her service dog Griffin, who collected his own parchment from the university's president, Anthony Collins.
Clarkson University informed Storyful that Hawley, who uses a wheelchair and has chronic pain, got Griffin two weeks before she started her college education. He helps her with a variety of tasks, including opening doors, carrying her belongings and fetching things for her.
