Democrat Dan McCaffery won an open seat on Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court in Tuesday’s general election, preserving a strong Democratic majority on a panel that has produced several critical election-related rulings in the presidential battleground state.
PHILADELPHIA - Cherelle Parker is the projected winner of Philadelphia's mayoral race, beating long shot Republican candidate David Oh to become the first female mayor in the city's history. Several City Council seats went uncontested Tuesday night and five democrats earned at-large seats, including Rue Landau who became the first LGBTQ+ member of Philadelphia's City Council. Democrats also had a win in Pennsylvania's Supreme Court vacancy with Dan McCaffery winning the bid.
New Jersey Democrats on Tuesday held on to a heavily contested state Senate district, with incumbent Vin Gopal winning a third term, and flipped an Assembly seat from GOP control in a heavily Republican area.
