Good Day makes their own "Gritty" ahead of Flyers' home opener

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The Philadelphia Flyers will be playing in their home opener Tuesday night, and their new mascot will be seeing his first regular-season action!

Gritty has taken the world, and the internet, by storm since the Flyers introduced him as the team's new mascot last month.

He's gotten attention for everything from his good looks, to his backstory, and even his skills on the ice.

Good Day Philadelphia invited Gritty on the show this morning. Unfortunately, Gritty was a little busy preparing for his big night and couldn't make an appearance, so our team had to improvise.

We made our very own Gritty.

All it took was a Flyer's jersey, some googly eyes, an assortment of orange fabrics, and a slightly reluctant morning television anchor!
