Father, son store owners shot in the head during deadly triple shooting in Kensington

A family was struck by tragedy when gunfire erupted inside their Kensington business, leaving one person dead and two others critically injured.

A family was struck by tragedy when gunfire erupted inside their Kensington business during a deadly robbery Wednesday evening.

The triple shooting happened inside the Nuevo Amanecer corner store on the 2900 block of North Hancock Street just before 5 p.m.

Police say 34-year-old Luimi Nunez was shot in the head and chest and rushed to Temple University Hospital by police. He succumbed to his injuries at 5:45 p.m.

MORE HEADLINES: 

A 61-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were also shot in the head. They were both said to be in critical condition at a local hospital.

A customer and friend of the store owners says she is angry and frustrated by the deadly violence in the neighborhood.

"These people they were beautiful people, one of a kind you could ever meet," Marisol Hidalgo said. "They have always been hard-working people and this is what really hurt me, not only this store it happens everywhere."

Police say no weapons were recovered, and no arrests have been made.
