1 man killed, 1 critically injured in West Philadelphia row home fire

One man has died and another man was critically injured in a West Philadelphia row home fire Sunday.

The fire broke out around 10:15 a.m. on the 100 block of North Edgewood Street.

A 36-year-old man was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 66-year-old man, who jumped out a window to escape the fire, sustained second-degree burns on his face and body and also dislocated his right shoulder. He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital and listed in critical condition.

Philadelphia's Red Paw Relief Team reports that one kitten was also found deceased. Two others are presumed dead after hours of searching on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
