19 year-old killed execution style after double shooting in West Philly
Police are investigating after they say a 19-year-old was shot to death and a 21-year-old is in critical condition suffering from gunshot wounds.
PHILADELPHIA - A young man is dead and another is fighting for his life after a daytime shooting Monday in Southwest Philadelphia.
Investigators said the shooting happened just after 11 a.m. on South 60th Street.
Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department found a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old each suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were brought to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where police say the 19-year-old man was pronounced dead.
The 21-year-old was listed in critical condition and underwent emergency surgery, according to police.
Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said surveillance footage shows the victims using a crosswalk when two shooters open fire at them from behind.
"It appeared to be targeted," Vanore said. "[The suspects] went right to them and they stood over them when they were shooting."
No arrests were reported immediately following the deadly double shooting.
