2 people critically wounded in Kensington shooting

Authorities say two people critically wounded in a Kensington shooting were able to escape the gunfire by fleeing into an abandoned home.

The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, when at least one person opened fire on the 3500 block of Stouten Street.

The victims, ages 18 and 24, were eventually driven to a hospital in a private vehicle. Both were listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds, but their names and further details on their injuries have not been disclosed.

It's not clear what sparked the shooting. Authorities say several vehicles and a house were also hit by the spray of bullets, but no other injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made.
