Mother, son dead after fire erupts in Burlington County apartment
Emergency crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the windows, which prevented them to enter until the fire was partially under control.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J. - A fire at an apartment in Burlington County has claimed the lives of a mother and her son Thursday morning.
The blaze erupted inside an apartment in the North Gate Village community around 3 a.m.
Emergency crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the windows, which prevented them to enter until the fire was partially under control.

A mother and son were pulled from the fire, and pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as 62-year-old Sandra Stevenson and 28-year-old Eric Stevenson.
No other injuries have been reported as officials say the fire was contained to one apartment.
The cause is still under investigation.
