New video shows moments before Uber driver killed in double shooting

New details have emerged after police say a 77-year-old Uber driver was killed in a deadly shooting outside a hookah bar.

One man is dead, and another is fighting for his life after gunfire erupted on the streets of Philadelphia's Center City early Wednesday morning.

What we know:

A 77-year-old man, believed to be a ride-share driver, was found shot in the head lying on the ground outside a vehicle on 17th and Chestnut streets around 2:30 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and later identified as Olatunji W. Bolaji from Norristown.

Another man, a 22-year-old, was found shot several times in the back of the vehicle, and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police say the shooting was targeted and happened around the corner on 18th Street when the 22-year-old got into a physical altercation outside Byblos Hookah Bar.

The 77-year-old tried to drive away, but crashed into a pole about a block away, where both victims were found.

Dig deeper:

Police believe the shooting was targeted, and that the suspects fled in a Jeep Grand Cherokee with possible Massachusetts plates.

The shooting was caught on video surveillance in the area.

Police confirmed they are looking at the surveillance video as part of their investigation.

It shows two men hugging two women as the men are about to get into a Suburban, driven by Bolaji, when two individuals jump out of another SUV behind them with its flashers on. One of the alleged shooters pushes a pair out of the way and grabs the 22-year-old victim and starts shooting.

The alleged shooters then get back into the SUV.

Police say during the gunfire, Bolaji was shot in the head. He tried to drive about a block away, but crashed into a pole, and died from his injuries, according to investigators. Police say the 22-year-old man was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

What they're saying:

Neighbors in his quiet community, stunned over his murder, describe him as a humble, hard-working man. A family friend, who says he lived with Bolaji at one point, says when you move to the area from Nigeria, "you become family." He says Bolaji was a father and a nice man, who worked very hard for his family.

What we don't know:

The motive and any possible suspect descriptions are still unknown.
