PHILADELPHIA - An argument inside a Philadelphia bar sparked a deadly shooting in the city's Kingsessing section, according to police.
Police say 35th District officers responded to reports of a person with a gun outside a bar on the 5300 block of Woodland Avenue.
Officers say when they arrived on scene they found evidence of a shooting and met with a man who said he returned fire at a woman who fired gunshots from a car in the direction of another person.
According to officials, shortly after, a 27-year-old woman was dropped off a Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center in a silver Infiniti. She was suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and forearm and was later pronounced dead at 1:11 a.m., per police.
Police say the preliminary investigation shows the 27-year-old woman was in rear passenger seat of the Infiniti arguing with a male pedestrian.
Witnesses told police the argument began inside the bar before making its way outside.
During the argument, she pulled out a gun and fired at the man, investigators say.
Authorities say another man, who has a permit to legally carry a gun, fired back at the woman.
