PLANT CITY (FOX 13) - A Plant City family desperate to find something that can't be replaced has finally received good news: the ashes of their relative were found.
Last week, Edward Rodriguez sent his father-in-law's remains to Puerto Rico via the U.S. Postal Service, but the ashes had not arrived. They were lost in the mail and the funeral was scheduled for Friday.
The funeral was originally scheduled for Thursday, but it had to be postponed.
Rodriguez tracked the package online, and says it shipped from Plant City to Tampa, then went to New Jersey and Philadelphia. No one knows where they went after that.
The U.S. Postal service was able to track the ashes and they finally arrived in Puerto Rico on Thursday.
The family said they will now hold the funeral on Saturday, after finally having closure.
