Hania Aguilar, the North Carolina teen who was kidnapped in November, likely died from a lack of oxygen, according to an autopsy report released Wednesday.

Hania was taken from her driveway in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park in Lumberton on Nov. 5, 2018.

Michael Ray McLellan, 34, was arrested and charged in connection to the crime. Investigators said McLellan forced the Hania into the family's green SUV, which the teen had started, and fled from the area. Her body was found on Nov. 27.

According to the autopsy report, the teen was found lying in a wooded area in water. Hania's body had a "broken plastic table on top and black tire on top of table." The teen was naked when she was found. Investigators said her body had minimal evidence of trauma, but signs consistent with sexual abuse.

Authorities said her body was removed from the area by a dive team, and due to her body being partially decomposed, a specific cause of death could not be identified.

The autopsy report determined the means to death to be most likely "a form of asphyxia."

McLellan remains jailed without bond after authorities charged him with at least 10 felonies, including first-degree murder, first-degree forcible rape and first-degree kidnapping.

Two Robeson County deputies were suspended after it was learned that they failed to follow up on evidence in a 2016 rape case that is linked to McLellan.
