PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The man charged in the stabbing death of a real estate developer has posted bail. The family of 21-year-old Michael White is now awaiting his release and he will be placed on house arrest. He faces third-degree murder charges in the death of Sean Schellenger.

Family members of White gathered at True Gospel Tabernacle Church hours after two community groups posted the $15,000 cash bail for the now 21-year-old murder suspect.
It comes day after District Attorney Larry Krasner asked a judge to downgrade White's first-degree murder charge to third-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter.
White is accused of stabbing 37-year-old real estate developer Sean Schellenger to death on July 12 after police say the two got into an argument during a traffic jam off Rittenhouse Square. White allegedly fled the scene and ditched the alleged murder weapon.
At Wednesday's preliminary hearing, DA Krasner cited video evidence police recovered of the altercation saying it does not prove White intended to kill the victim. The suspect's family expressing sadness for the Schellenger's mother.
"We are so, so sorry for your loss," Tanya James said. "We give our condolences and like she said there's two lives that are lost or if not lost taken so we are grieving for them."
Family spokesperson Greg Thompson spoke with White just after he learned he was to be freed on bail.
"He is totally speechless with what's going on as it pertains to his release," he said.
White is scheduled to be released on bail Monday afternoon. He will be on house arrest with an ankle bracelet.
