Baseball bat assault at South Philly SEPTA station leaves man hospitalized

Philadelphia police are investigating after a 41-year-old man was beaten with a baseball bat early Monday morning.

The assault unfolded just after 4 a.m. near the intersection of South Broad Street and Pattison Avenue.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries, and placed in critical condition.

Police say a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection to the assault.

A motive has yet to be released as an investigation continues.
