Bikers provide Christmas gifts for foster children

Over 200 bikers from all over North Georgia participated in the North Georgia Toy Ride on Sunday morning.

The ride benefiting over 400 children from the Cherokee County Foster program takes place the first Sunday in December. The program has been in effect for over 10 years. "What is so special about this program is that the children submit their wish lists and they get exactly what they asked for," said Lisa Wheeler, head of the Cherokee County Secret Santa program.

The Cherokee County Secret Santa program is designed to benefit foster children, who have been removed from their own homes due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, or other family problems.

The bikers arrived at the Moose Lodge in Canton with unwrapped presents.

The Secret Santa program is operated by volunteers who provide their own supplies. Every cent of your aid goes directly to the foster children and is 100% tax deductible.
