Burlington County forest fire closes several roads amid billowing smoke
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (FOX 29) - A forest fire broke out in Washington Township, New Jersey Saturday.
The smoke billowed into the sky at the Penn State Forest in Burlington County and was reportedly seen in Toms River and further north.
The Forest Service and several fire crews from both Burlington County and Ocean County worked to contain the blaze.
Route 72 in Barnegat was closed between Routes 532 and 539 until further notice because of smoke.
There were no reports of injuries.
