Burst pipe at Center City Marriott causes water leak

Cold weather is wreaking havoc on pipes in the area, and the Marriott in Center City is the latest building affected.

Water could be seen flowing out of the Marriott that sits alongside Pennsylvania Convention Center. Trash cans full of water squeegeed out rolled by as alarms flashed in the lobby.

A burst pipe reportedly caused the water leak just before 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday on the Flibert Street side of the hotel. The water is currently contained to the lobby area.

No evacuations have been made at this time.
