Camden County Police warn of recurring phone scam

CAMDEN COUNTY (WTXF) - Authorities in Camden County are warning residents of a phone scam that has targeted several residents.

Since January 24 th , police say there have been eight occasions where Camden residents received phone calls or text messages from an unfamiliar number.

Each time, the suspect attempted to coerce the residents to wire money to help a member of their own families.

Each time, residents found the alleged family member in need safe and sound.

The number has an 856 area code.
