Each and every dumpster at the sprawling Crestbury Apartment complex is overflowing with trash.

Local pastor and activist Amir Khan says he was called to the 2500 block of South 8th Street by frustrated residents.

"Nobody should have to live like this. Nobody. Rats and rodents are crawling out of this stuff -- crawling into the apartments," said Pastor Amir Khan with the Camden Empowerment Center.

Residents say the garbage has been piling up for weeks and that their attempt to get a response from apartment management has gotten them nowhere.

"Nobody's got answers to anything. You ask the office about anything. They don't have answers to anything. Anything at all," said resident Myeisha Scott.

City and county inspectors were on the scene Tuesday morning. Waste Management also came and began to clean up the area. It says it will work with the apartment complex on what they say is an "account issue."
