Stratford NJ (WTXF) A candlelight vigil was held in memory of a New Jersey woman. She leaves behind three children.
The community prayed and wept still in disbelief that a woman who was their neighbor, their friend, their loved one was gone.
"It's very difficult for the community. We are not used to anything of this magnitude," said the victim's co-worker Michele Willis.
35-year-old Roxanne Flores lived in Stratford, New Jersey, with her husband and three children. Late last Friday night, police say, 33-year-old Mario Flores allegedly killed his wife with the three children home at the times. Authorities say he fled with their 3-year-old daughter, left her at his mother's, and then drove to Virginia where he was arrested.
"Now there's three children that don't have a mother or father and they have to rely on their uncles and aunts to try to support them," Michele explained.
On Friday, they came to comfort one another and to try to raise money to help support the children.
