Cargo ship stuck in Delaware River near Ben Franklin Bridge
PHILADELPHIA - Coast Guard crews are responding to a cargo ship that remains stranded in Philadelphia's Delaware River Thursday morning.
The 623-foot vessel ran aground at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday about a mile north of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge while hauling about 45,000 tons of solar salt.
The Coast Guard says a team boarded the MV Algoma Verity around 8 a.m. Thursday, and are currently formulating a plan to safely move the vessel to a nearby terminal.

Vessel traffic has been restricted from Benjamin Franklin Bridge to Tioga Marine Terminal at this time.
No injuries or pollution from the vessel have been reported.
The cause of the grounding is under investigation.
