Chestnut Hill residents sue beer garden over excessive noise
CHESTNUT HILL, Pa. (WTXF) - A Chestnut Hill hotspot is the target of a lawsuit claiming it's a nuisance and must close.
Chestnut Hill Brewery's beer garden has been named in the suit, which was signed by about 15-people who live nearby on Ardleigh Street and Hartwell Lane.
The group complains of loud noise, bright lights, foul smells and parking problems. They also claim property values have dropped in the surrounding area.
However, neighbors who spoke to FOX 29 say they don't understand what the fuss is all about.
"I'm happy to see there is a thriving business and at the moment I don't hear any noise it's not open very late and I'm ok with it frankly," said Chestnut Hill resident Scott Robinson.
The lawsuit also alleges the owners violated a 1981 deed covenant by building the beer garden.
The business is open Wednesday through Sunday and closes at 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It closes at 9 p.m. every other day.
