Christmas Village shooting: Second teen charged in Dilworth Plaza shooting, another sought
PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police have charged another 14-year-old who they say was involved in a fight-turned-shooting at Christmas Village on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said one of the teens was arrested Wednesday morning and has been charged with aggravated assault and other crimes.
Police are searching for another teen suspect, who is expected to be the third teen charged in the shooting that erupted near the ice skating rink at Dilworth Plaza.
Investigators believe the fight started over a bullying incident involving one of the injured teens' younger siblings.
"It's a lot of violence over an argument that we ultimately know now was over picking on someone's brother," Vanore told reporters Wednesday.
Three teens were injured in the shooting, including a 15-year-old boy who was shot in the eye and is still fighting for his life days later.
"He is still fighting for his life, he had several surgeries, we believe he lost his eye, he is fighting for his life," Vanore said.
A 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody blocks away from the shooting on Friday night. They were charged with aggravated assault and other crimes.
