PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Holiday shoppers and tourists driving in and around Philadelphia will be greeted with free and reduced-price parking. Consider it a gift from the city on weekends between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
First, the free:
Wednesday, the Philadelphia Parking Authority announced, "To support holiday shopping, meter parking citywide will be free every Saturday after 11am between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day."
They'll still enforce all other parking violations, including safety violations and time limits on residential blocks.
Also, drivers will be able to park on both weekend days -- Saturdays and Sundays -- for a discounted flat $8 fee at six AutoParks between 11am and 5pm.
They are the AutoPark at Independence Mall, AutoPark at Olde City, Parkade on 8th, AutoPark at Jefferson, AutoPark at Gallery Mall and Family Courthouse.
