Community rallies around family after man killed in Upper Hanover Township crash

Upper Hanover Township, Pa. (WTXF) - A community is rallying around a family after a husband and father of four was hit and killed in Upper Hanover Township, Pa. One of the drivers involved in the crash never stopped.

"I was expecting him to come in the door and we were gonna cook dinner," widow, Megan Bender, told FOX 29.

But sadly, her husband, Bill, never made it home from work. The SEPTA maintenance manager was just two miles from his East Greenville home on July 23rd when his car was rear-end on Route 663 at Northgate Boulevard.

The impact sent his black Honda into oncoming traffic and he was T-boned by another car. A bouquet of flowers marks the spot where the 38-year-old was killed.

His wife is heartbroken that his family never even saw him that day

"That's hard--that's hard every day to know that I didn't say good bye to him. I didn't tell him I loved him that day because he left before we even woke up."

Making matters worse, the driver who triggered the deadly crash never stopped.

19-year-old Logan, 13-year-old Brielle, 11-year-old Hailey and 10-year-old Alex miss their dad terribly.

Neighbor Ciearra Buddock started a GoFundMe page to help the Bender family with close to 600 people donating in just over a week.

The mother of four is incredibly grateful for the support. She buried her husband on Tuesday on what would have been their 14th wedding anniversary.
