UPPER PERKIOMEN, Pa. (WTXF) - Students attending classes in the Upper Perkiomen School District have a long weekend.
School is canceled on Monday.
It's not because of the weather, according to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alexis McGloin.
Instead, there is a "concern with safety and welfare of our students" and "state police are investigating a situation that raises enough concern for us to take this action."
Dr. McGloin told FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce that very early Monday, "Administration was made aware of an ongoing investigation associated with our secondary school students ... We take all threats of any nature seriously and believe that it is appropriate to always notify the public and act in the best interest of our school community."
Schools closed are Upper Perkiomen High School, Upper Perkiomen Middle School, Hereford Elementary and Marlborough Elementary.
