Coroner: Rene Angelil, husband of Celine Dion, dies at 73
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities say Rene Angelil, the husband and manager of Celine Dion, has died in Las Vegas. He was 73 and had battled throat cancer.
Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said his office was notified Thursday of Angelil's death.
Angelil died at home in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson under the care of a doctor.
Fudenberg said he died of natural causes and no further investigation is expected.
A representative for Dion couldn't immediately be reached.
Celine and Angelil have three children.
Celine won Grammy awards for songs including the "Titanic" theme "My Heart Will Go On." She returned to her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in August after taking a year off to care for her husband.
