DA drops felony charges against woman arrested at Philly pride parade

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Felony charges were dropped Wednesday against a woman who was arrested at the Philadelphia Pride Parade on Sunday.

Ryan Segin, 18, was arrested after she allegedly attempted to set what police describe as a "thin blue line American flag" on fire while in a crowd gathered for the parade.

The incident took place shortly after 12 p.m. at 12th and Locust Streets.

Police say Segin also had road flares protruding from her backpack. A can of paint thinner and a blue lighter stick were also recovered.

After further investigation into the incident by the district attorney's office, felony charges for attempted arson and causing/risking a catastrophe were dropped against Segin.

Segin, of Woodbine, New Jersey, is slated to proceed to trial on misdemeanor charges for possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person.
