BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Authorities in Bucks County say a man who was wanted as a person of interest in his stepfather’s death is now in custody.
Brian Joseph Carey, 41, was arrested by state troopers in Trumbauersville Borough on drug charges, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities say Carey is a person of interest in the murder of his stepfather, 78-year-old Joseph Michael Jakimowicz. Their investigation into that incident is ongoing and no charges have been filed in that case.
Police were called to the 700 block of Winder Drive around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and found Jakimowicz dead inside of a home.
Investigators identified Carey as a person of interest and put out an alert to find him in Jakimowicz’s silver 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. That vehicle was later recovered in Philadelphia.
The investigation is ongoing.
