Delaware hit-and-run leaves man, 21, critical
LINCOLN, Del. (AP) - Authorities say a hit-and-run crash has left a Delaware man in critical condition.
Delaware State Police said in a news release that the 21-year-old New Castle man was struck Sunday evening in Lincoln. The vehicle briefly stopped on a nearby shoulder before taking off, according to authorities.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was airlifted to Christiana Hospital. Police say they believe the pedestrian was impaired and that that could have played a contributing role.
Authorities do not have make and model details for the vehicle. The car is described as red in color, with a missing driver's side mirror and damage to the hood, bumper, lights and possibly radiator.
