ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Matilda's story may have started off with heartbreak, but will hopefully have the happiest of endings.
The Lehigh Valley Humane Society says the "scared and shivering" dog sought shelter on their porch after being abandoned nearby.
"She couldn't understand why she was there, and neither did we. But what we do know is this: Matilda deserves so much more."

A video posted by the humane society shows the night Matilda was found curled in a ball outside their door, before transitioning to her happily playing inside their facility.
"With every step, she’s learning to trust again. She’s gone from trembling in fear to cautiously seeking love and attention."
Matilda is now up for adoption, and ready to find her forever home!
Anyone interested in adopting Matilda can visit her at the Lehigh Valley Humane Society.
