Domestic Abuse Survivor Shares Powerful Video and Note on Facebook
(STORYFUL) - Darrian Amaker is a writer and singer who posted a Facebook note and video on January 16 recounting the horrible alleged abuse she received from a former boyfriend in November 2015.
Hello - my name is darrian. A few days after thanksgiving this past year, my Love went straight psychotic and beat me...
In her note, Amaker writes how her boyfriend "went straight psychotic" and beat her for ten hours.
She writes, "He had planned it out; I was supposed to die."
She escaped and spent four days recuperating in a hospital, while the man was charged with six felonies by a grand jury.
She also writes, "I don't generally record videos of myself but it was the only thing I wanted to do in the hospital. I insisted - it felt important and a small triumph to make something, salvage anything from my shipwrecked heart."
Amaker shared the video with the Facebook page for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
