PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Dozens of people showed up for a benefit for Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett, who survived an ambush three weeks ago.
Officer Hartnett walked into the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge Thursday night to a standing ovation and a crowd filled with emotion.
A dinner and benefit were held in his honor after he survived an ambush earlier this month.
Surveillance video captured the suspect walking up to Hartnett's patrol car and open fire on him.
Many dropped off donations and came to say thank you to Hartnett including officers from New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island.
Fop president John McNesby spoke on behalf of Hartnett saying he is thankful for the outpouring of support.
