Dramatic surveillance footage shows man robbing Elmwood 7-11 at gunpoint
ELMWOOD (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a 7-Eleven in Elmwood.
The incident occurred on October 7 at 12:20 a.m.
The unknown male suspect entered the 7-Eleven located at 2900 South 70 th Street and approached the counter to make a purchase.
Once inside, the suspect walked around as if he was shopping, waiting until the store was nearly empty before approaching the counter and pulling out a handgun. He then demanded money from the cash register.
The employee complied, giving the suspect $300 and cigarettes.
The suspect then fled the store and was last seen north on 70 th Street.
7-Eleven employees observed the suspect inside the store 30 minutes before the robbery took place. He had been asking about products they didn't sell.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s, 5'10" with a slim build, short hair, light beard, and he was wearing an olive green army style jacket, dark-colored pants, and dark-colored shoes.
