PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Another rainy Sunday here in the Delaware Valley.
But, folks weren't letting clouds and some drizzle stop them from heading outside.
At the annual Odunde Festival, a celebration of culture meant for rain or shine, but the rain part ended up winning out.
"Everybody is walking around. You can see my poncho on because I wanted to get out and celebrate," said Leontine Olson.
Olson came a long way to be with family and was not going to let Mother Nature stop her from celebrating African heritage.
"I came from Virginia and I wanted to be out here in the rain or not," Olson explained.
"Our hair gets a little bigger. That's all," said Olson's daughter.
Meanwhile, over at the newly redesigned Love Park, Sean Choy notices a big difference in the recent weather compared to where he's from out west.
"Colorado is really dry and it's really hot. I think it's, like, 95 degrees right now," Choy said.
When he was told this was the seventh consecutive rainy weekend in Philadelphia, there was a bit of a surprise.
"Wow that's crazy! In the summertime, too. It's just about to start. That's unfortunate, I guess," Choy exclaimed.
