PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - FOX 29, and the rest of the 21st Century Fox family, is excited to spend the week giving back to the community.
Here at home, the FOX 29 team -- anchors, reporters, producers, and the rest of the crew behind the scenes -- is again teaming up with MANNA, a local non-profit dedicated to delivering nutritious, medically-appropriate meals to people battling life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, renal disease and HIV/AIDS.
MANNA, which stands for Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance, delivers three meals a day, seven days a week to residents in the Greater Philadelphia area, as well as Southern New Jersey.
But they can't do it alone.
Each year, thousands of volunteers chop, cook, dice and deliver meals, enabling MANNA to provide all meals and counseling free of charge so that individuals at acute nutritional risk from life-threatening illnesses can help improve their health and quality of life.
MANNA depends on volunteers to make its mission possible, so FOX 29 is proud to spend the week pitching in as part of 21st Century Fox's nationwide Impact Week. At the same time, our colleagues from sister stations and companies will be giving back to their own communities with dozens of service projects organized across the country.
