Funeral arrangements announced for Philadelphia firefighter Michael Bernstein

A Philadelphia firefighter who passed away after suffering a medical emergency while on duty will be laid to rest next week.

Michael Bernstein, 46, died Wednesday after suffering a medical emergency while on duty at Engine 78 at Philadelphia International Airport.

Bernstein's company was dispatched to an assignment in the early morning hours. After he didn't arrive at the fire apparatus, his fellow members found him unconscious in the hallway. He passed away at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

Bernstein was a 23-year veteran of the department. He is survived by his wife, three children and parents.
