Suspect sought after crash leads to shooting, 3 bystanders wounded

A suspect is sought after, police say, the man crashed into another vehicle, pulled a gun and fired, injuring three innocent bystanders.

Philadelphia gun violence impacts the life of another child after a girl was shot, along with two adults in Kensington.

The shooting broke out Thursday afternoon, a little before 3 o’clock, on the 400 block of East Allegheny Avenue.

According to authorities, the shooting was the end result of a motor vehicle accident and the three victims were innocent bystanders.

All of the victims were treated at local hospitals and all are stable.

Officials said a vehicle was traveling south on Rosehill Street and attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Allegheny Avenue. A man was traveling west on Allegheny on a scooter at the same time. The driver of the vehicle did not see the scooter when making the turn and hit the scooter, sending it flying.

Surveillance shows moments before 3 innocent bystanders shot after crash in Kensington

FOX 29's Steve Keeley presents the latest after police release surveillance video showing a crash involving a motorcycle and a car that then left three innocent bystanders including a child shot in Kensington Thursday afternoon.

The man was thrown from the smashed scooter, as both slide to a stop. And, the car then leaves the scene. Philadelphia police sources tell FOX 29’s Steve Keeley the driver has come forward voluntarily to police.

Girl among 3 shot on Kensington street

Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that happened after an apparent accident in Kensington. Two adults and a child were all injured in the shooting.

After the crash, and captured in surveillance video, one investigator says, based on what they see on the surveillance, the male thrown from the scooter "appears concussed."

Update on B Street shooting

Philadelphia police provide update on shooting on B Street in Kensington.

He pulls out a gun and starts shooting in the direction of the fleeing car. He then tosses his mangled scooter and limps away from the scene.

The adult female victim, 47, was in her car. A bullet struck the windshield and grazed her head and shoulder. She was taken to Temple University Hospital and is stable. School District of Philadelphia union officials say the woman is a teacher with the district.

The adult man, 35, was a pedestrian when the shooting broke out. He was shot in the leg and also taken to Temple.

The little girl, 8, was in a car with her father. He saw she had been shot and immediately rushed her to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children where she was treated for a gunshot wound to the head. The little girl is stable.

Police are searching for the shooter. They say he is between 30 and 35-years-old and should not be approached. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

An active investigation is ongoing.
