Golden Retriever puppy 'Wesley' is all smiles with his braces

The Internet is going wild after a Michigan animal hospital posted photos of a Golden Retriever puppy named "Wesley" with braces on Saturday.

Harborfront Hospital for Animals describes Dr. Moore as a "doggie dentist" -- he puts braces on dogs not for aesthetic purposes, but for health concerns. They said Wesley needed proper tooth alignment because he couldn't close his mouth completely.

"When people hear that Dr. Moore is a 'doggie dentist,' they immediately say things like, 'What? Does he put braces on dogs, too?' The answer is... yes. Yes, he does," the animal hospital said.

Wesley's "brace face" has since gained over 250,000 shares in just a few days. On Monday, the animal hospital made a reference to the outpouring of care and interest from around the nation.

"He is happily enjoying some of the benefits of his celebrity (although he already had ample hugs, kisses and belly rubs)," they wrote. "Most importantly, he is eating well, playing, and feeling wonderful."
